The Inge Aponte are an indigenous community living near the city of Nariño, at 2150m located on rich Galeras volcanic region. This geographical location with its volatile wind patterns and deep valleys, influences the average temperatures and thermal range the coffee tree grows at, which is lower than many other parts of Colombia coffee growing regions. This unique cooler temperature causes longer periods of development and ripening of the coffee cherry, like grapes and wine, creating higher sugar content. This transfers beautifully to an exceptionally sweet and well-balanced coffee. Flavors present with stone fruit, cherry and a long sweet lingering chocolate finish.
